The Project:

Decoration and firestopping services, as part of the development and construction of the Skanska 45,000sqft (4,180sqm) London head office site.

Located at 51 Moorgate, the site includes three floors of Skanska personnel, as well as retail and commercial tenants into the rest of the space.  Designers hoped to achieve a modern, sustainable and healthy workplace where people and businesses can thrive.

Our specialist team helped Skanska and architects John Robertson Associates achieve their vision through a superior decorating finish that responds to the project’s WELL certification aims.

The Challenge:

Skanska invited us to design a decorating solution to meet the building’s ambitious WELL Building Standard.  Specifically, to ensure materials reduce human exposure to hazardous building material ingredients through the restriction or elimination of compounds or products known to be toxic and the promotion of safer replacements.

The Results:

Our innovative approach helped us to deliver full decorating and firestopping services to support Skanska’s WELL certification aims.

Working with a range of products, including Intumescent paint, CP2 paint and backless fabric wallpaper, the Roseville Projects team transformed the 45,000sqft (4,180sqm) commercial building including:

  • new build seventh-storey rooftop level
  • reconfigured reception area with public café
  • ground floor cycle storage and changing facilities
  • eight floors of office space
  • ground-floor retail space

Mark Stewart, Chief Executive, Roseville Projects Ltd, says: “This ambitious project set out to meet the WELL Building Standard, support occupiers aspiring to WELL certification, and to create a modern workspace in the heart of The City that promotes health, well-being and productivity.  We’re proud to have contributed with materials that mitigate the impact of decoration on the environment, and to have achieved such a stunning end- result for principle contractor and client, Skanska.”
